We provide support, they give back love!

The death rate from breast cancer has declined since 1990 thanks to better screening and early detection. However, the decline is faster for women with accessible screening. Women from low income areas currently lose their life to breast cancer at a higher rate. A woman told us, “The emotional and financial support I received during my diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer was invaluable.” S2S works with women every day to save lives, we need your help. If you would like to help lower the mortality rate, by supporting our services to women in treatment please join us.

Take a walk. Join a movement!

Prevention and treatment of breast cancer requires a multi-dimensional approach. This fact is even more crucial among minority women communities due to the high death rate for minority women.

GirlTrek Mission:
Pioneer a health movement for African-American women and girls grounded in civil rights history and principles through walking campaigns, community leadership and health advocacy.

Mission Possible-Warriors
Sister2Sister, Inc.  (S2S) expands their vision to serve and support GirlTrek. They are leading by example by supporting, inspiring, and encouraging Black women to live their lives healthier and inspiring healthier communities by walking.

S2S has joined Mission Possible Somerset GirlTrek Team, spearheaded by Ms. Debe Davis, a Health and Wellness Professional. S2S is the Mission Possible-Warriors and the team is spearheaded by a breast cancer survivor.

S2S look to ensure that women impacted by breast cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened their bodies by action and are sustained by community support. Valerie Mathis-Leake being a breast cancer survivor, walks daily because being active and walking is thought to reduce cancer risk largely by improving energy metabolism and reducing circulating concentrations of estrogen, insulin, and insulin-like growth factors.

Mission Possible-Warriors invite all women of color to join the team. We walk 3 or 5 miles every Saturday morning at 7:00 AM in Johnson Park, 1281 River Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854. To join, please contact Dorothy Reed ats2s@sncnj.org and you will receive detail information.
